The Restore Access To Mobility Partnership (RAMP), a coalition of wheelchair providers and manufacturers, is working with leading Senior, Disability, Consumer, Clinical and Medical organizations to ensure that consumers with medical need for mobility devices is not wrongly limited. The goals of RAMP are: to work with clinicians and consumers to provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) with clinical coverage guidance input for CMS' inter-agency task force that will develop clinical guidance for the current national Medicare coverage policy for power wheelchairs and power operated vehicles; and to work with CMS and Congress to change the DMERCs' medical review criteria to ensure rational interpretation of the current coverage policy.
